I'm not entirely sure why, but I've always felt somewhat nostalgic for this clip even the first time seeing it. Like a television show I watched as a kid, since it has such a 90s-era teens show 'feel' to it with the setting and background music. I was dealing with terrible social anxiety in that period of time, so communication was kept at a bare minimum. I could relate to what the lonely lady seemed like she could be going through, an awkward phase. I remember seeing this for the first time and indulging at just how gratifying it was to see how things can be better. Let it shine!

I always believe that a simple act of kindness can go a long way. When I was a teacher I always stressed this to my classes. You never know what kind of day someone is having, what they are dealing with at home or what internal battles they are fighting and something like this can turn someone's day around! We should see more of this in the world and less of the "it's too cool" or "It's not my problem" attitudes.

Annie's song is special and the video makes it carry the message. Please play forever...it's needed. Thanks John Denver.

There's so much junk on TV and then this commercial comes on and I'm just smiling all day. Love, just Love this one!
Raoul from Virginia, January 23, 2016
I do love this commercial. I am wondering if the two girls are sisters in real life. They look so much alike, except one has curly hair and the other straight. Every time I see this, I think they have to be sisters. Same beautiful smile, teeth, etc.
Loretta from Fairbanks, AK, December 31, 2015
I saw this commercial on Qubo and I love it very much. This is a stupid question, but did you redo this commercial twice? I noticed there are 2 different versions of it.

It just goes to show what a simple act of kindness can do. Look how nervous she was coming to the new school for the first time, not knowing what to expect. Yes, just a 'hi' and a smile goes a long way. What did she do in return? 'Paid it forward' with a brilliant smile, and a 'hi'.Love it!!

I showed this video to my elementary classes the first week of school. I wanted to teach them how to treat new students. We have all been a new student somewhere, sometime.

I am teaching a Seniors' course at Clark College on "Propaganda." After segments featuring Hitler, Goebbels and various seductive politicians, I knew that I needed to demonstrate that propaganda can also be a positive, uplifting force. Thank you for providing some highly polished and persuasive examples for my final session.

As a Mom I try to encourage my kids to always talk to everyone in school... you CAN and DO make a difference when you are kind, plus it sets an example for everyone else around you. A simple "Hi" can change the world... or at least make a huge difference in a really bad day.
Linda from Kansas, August 19, 2011
I work with young people and have shown this video as how through a simple gesture you can have a positive impact on people. It's also how I conduct myself with people I work with. Thank you for producing this. :)
Hal K from Kansas, August 19, 2011
This commercial was perfect timing when this was copied and pasted to my facebook profile. I think I am going to start a CAUSE in my School District. Special request to all kids attending school. If you see someone who is struggling to make friends or being bullied because they don't have many friends or may seem different because they are shy or not as pretty or not dressed in the most "in" clothes, PLEASE step up. Say "hi" or at least smile at them in the hallway. You never know what that person might be facing outside of school. Your kindness might just make a BIG difference in someone's life!! This commercial has been posted on facebook to help make a difference!

I love the illustration of one moment we can all relate to — these little moments are what shape our lives. A small effort can make a HUGE difference in both the giver's heart and the receiver's. P.S. I would love to know what this song is!
