For those wondering, the song (Breakaway) was written by Avril Lavigne, she decided it wouldn't fit on the album she was working on at the time and passed it on to Kelly Clarkson, who sings this version. It is available on Clarkson's second album, also called Breakaway.

i was also wondering if it was abbeville ,la. when i paused the video it would have to b an older picture by the cars in the street and the cafe sign looks like a building that was torn down. City hall seems to b in the right place and the court house is a dead give away also there are two oak trees in the excact location as in the Vermillion parish court house. Although i cant tell for sure it really does look like an older picture of the court house square in Abbeville but with out credits we will never know for sure.

I can be sleeping & when this commercial comes on, I pop up like a jack in the box. I absolutely love this commercial! I literally get butterflies in the pit of my stomach every time I see it. Our 18 mo. old watched this video last year on a local ota television channel along with others; 'you lift me up;, 'the race'; and no matter what she is doing she runs to see these great videos. They are a great visual aid to the instruction about values we give to her and our 8 yr old. When I come home from work, after the 'hi daddy' she says 'breakaway' and we get online to watch. At 18 months she is singing along with the artist. We have downloaded many of these to the cell phone and the kids watch them in the car. To say the least, I'm extremely moved by your organization, values.com. The "Breakaway" soundtrack is a perfect segue to the video and to the principles of values. I've been trying for years to launch a similar campaign in my local community. Which has been nearly decimated by violence, poverty, unemployement and drugs. To clarify who sang this song first, Breakaway was first released by Kelly Clarkson (Jan 17, 2004) and Samantha Moore's release is July 30, 2009. Ms Moore's album was called Prequel to "Finally": Country Based Songs and was a remake of Kelly Clarkson's original album. Both are good variations! The words sing true...
