My life wasn't going well. I was going through problems and was very depressed. I had a lot of suicidal thoughts and I was really close to taking my life. I decided I had to tell someone. I decided to tell my best friend, Jodi. She then decided that it was getting too bad to keep it to herself; she had to tell her mom. One night I had a breakdown. I called them and said I can't take it anymore. We hung up. Then I heard the phone ring at my house and my mom came into my room and said I have to go to Jan's (a friend of my mom's) and give her something. My mom got back came into my room and said we need to talk. That's when I knew that she had found out. I was mad that Jodi and her mom told but now in my life I'm thankful. My mom immediately took me to a doctor and the doctor said I needed to be taken to a hospital. I did not want to do it and my parents didn't either. We decided not to and instead take me to another doctor and then that doctor but me on medication then I went to a counselor. I hated the counselor but it helped me. And now to this day I have conquered depression. But I wouldn't have if Mrs. Rebecca had not told my mom. I'm so thankful that she did because I truly believe that if she hadn't I would have taken my life.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
