In the summer of 2017 I had a firework go off in my right hand and ended up loosing my index finger, middle finger, end of my ring finger and the end off my thumb. All in all it was still a good day because I was still Alive and knowing it could have been a lot worse.
When I got to the hospital my parents were already there supporting me as soon as possible, a day later my brother flew across the country leaving his job to be there for me. Seeing that really opened up for me that family is the best thing you can have - but that is not why I'am writing this story.
I am doing this for people to see that the biggest competition in life is that person that looks back at you in the mirror. In this world you are what you believe you are. If you wanna tell yourself that you're stupid or you're not good looking, that is what you are going to be. But if you look in the mirror and want to tell yourself you're great or you're going to make a difference in this world, then make it happen.
Ever since this accident, I had some rough moments but I learned to see the bright side of it. I learned not to regret it because it made me the person I am today. And that person is a 17 year old kid who believes that if you work had enough, being what you wanna be, and having faith in yourself and the good lord up above, that anything is possible. Everything happens for a reason. For that reason, I will work the rest of my life chasing my dreams and trying to be known as the person I see myself as, because the reward at the end will be greater then anyone can possibly imagine.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
