My Story:

I had a stroke at birth, and doctors to this day still don’t know why I had the stroke. I was in hospital for a month, I stopped breathing several times, which at one point I nearly died.

When I was discharged from hospital, I was a year behind my milestones. As the the years went on I recovered fully from the stroke and lived a normal life.

At the age of 12 I developed epilepsy and as I got to high school it just got worse, I was allergic to nearly all the epileptic medicine and was in and out of ICU.

In 2014 at the age of 16, I went for a brain operation to remove all the dead tissue causing the epilepsy. I had two operations, the first operation was to stitch the electrodes onto the brain to see exactly where the epilepsy was coming from. This was a five and a half hour operation.

I stayed like that for a week, after that week the doctors said they had enough information in order to operate. The second operation was a nine and a half hour operation to remove all the dead tissue causing the epilepsy.

The operation was a success, however, I suffered two strokes because of it.

It is three years later since I have had my stroke age 19 and I am still recovering. I have worked long and hard to get to this point and could have never done any of this without the support of some family members, some friends, and God who have helped me all these years.

I have been wanting to share my story for some time now in the hope of inspiring others to keep going no matter the circumstances.
