Friendship and Inspiration
It was spirit week here at Granger High school my friend Alex and I were walking around the school. When he told me “ I have to go to the bathroom”. So we went to the gas station and from there we were walking and we were talking about self harm. When he tells me “Yulecxia can I tell you something and please don’t judge me”. I said sure tell me what has been bothering you. Alex raised his sleeves and showed me his self harm cuts. And he told me that he was getting hate and this person made a hashtag about him and he was getting cyberbullying on facebook and twitter. It made me see the way he was feeling when my favorite singer went through the same.
I still remember it was like in 2014 and I was home from school when my phone was blasted by notifications. I open my phone and see all these hashtags about Ashton Irwin and #ashtonkeepcuttingyourtrash. I was angry because he helped me when I was cutting with his music helped alot. I remember going on twitter and writing all the peoples name and tweeting them to stop acting like they are 5. That by horrible hashtags won’t make him leave. I defend him because no one and I mean no one deserves all that horrible hashtags.
Boy was i wrong that night Luke one of his friends tweeted that Ashton was in the hospital because it was a suicide attempt. Ashton might have been through his dad leaving and he had to help his mom raise to kids younger than him. He graduated high school and had to drop out college to join a band called 5 Seconds of Summer. After like a week or two he tweeted that he will try to stop self harming himself. For his friends and family but mostly his fans. Ashton’s friends made him go to therapy to help him. He became famous and toured with One Direction. After a while we the fans saw him getting better we made a hashtag that goes #weloveashtonyourperfect.
When I came back to reality Alex was there crying. I asked him “ What's wrong Alex”. He told me “ I want your last hug because I know you're judging me in the inside”. I gave him the biggest hug that was ever made and cried with him. Because even though he was my best friend he is like a brother to me. I then told him “I told him that i been through the same that I would never judge him”. He cried even more and than I told him that he reminded me of Ashton Irwin. And he made me laugh because he was like “ thanks I knew I was hot”. But sorry to break your bubble but no Ashton Irwin went through self-harm and he was afraid to tell someone afraid of being judged. But he did and he also learned that it was not his fault his father left. Nobody deserves the pain you put yourself in.
