My best friend Kaiya, she is like me and it makes me think of myself. I was always bullied and I still am because of things like my weight, my height, how I am, how I act and bunch of other thing. I started getting depressed, and my actions were really bad. But someone told me something that I will always remember, it feels like it just happened yesterday.
It was in March, the day before spring break. We were in the middle of class. As my thoughts whirling like a tornado. I pulled a blank piece of paper out and started writing out these horrible thoughts. The tears came rolling down like a rushing river. As I laid my head down, I hoped the other kids wouldn’t see me.
From a distance I could hear someone whispering, like they were reading something. Out of nowhere someone lifted my head up but I couldn’t make out the face. My eyes were still blurry from the tears, as the blurry figure wiped the tears from my eyes and pushed the hair away from my face. The figure became clear to me.
I then knew who it was, the guy that I’d always love, Jesse. “You are perfect the way you are, you should never change or hate yourself because it’s about what you think and not what others think of you. You are who you are,” he explained. “People will accept you for how you are, but if you can’t accept yourself then how will other people accept you?” he stated. His sweet words mesmerized me. Now over the past months I learned that no one was perfect, we all have flaws and that’s what makes us perfect. I started being myself and now I have these wonderful friends who love me, because I am myself. All of a sudden I flashed back to reality seeing Kaiya cry, I told her the same thing Jesse told me.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
