Sacrifice

In class, I saw a teacher helping and encouraging a student. Suddenly, it reminds me of how my mother took care of use and worked really hard for us.
It was in Myanmar, when I was four. My father passed away because of sickness and left my mother with two children. It was me and my brother. Since she can’t take care of us alone, we had to go back to our original town where our relatives and families live. But, me and my brother don’t know any of their culture or languages. It was really hard for us.
Since we are still child, we had to attend school. In school, we barely understood what they said. Since the town has no modern technology, we had to live by farming. She worked for the farm and all the housework. My mother would teach us all from the beginning again despite all the other works she had. She would also always help us with our home works, reward us and encourage us to do better every time.
When I was in the 3rd grade, my uncle decided he would take us to Malaysia with him. My mother agreed thinking of the futures we can have. And so we came to Malaysia with our uncle, who is now our father. After we’re apart, he would always ask us “listen to your parents.” Even now, she still calls us and asks “are you listening to your parents?”
Now I’m already in high school. All the sacrifice that were made can change us for the rest of our life. Even though we’re apart for a long time, I still remember her teachings. I will use them to become a successful man in my life.
