It is my first year in high school and as I walked to my class I can hear all the kids around me talking, yelling, and texting before class starts. I look at the time on my phone and the bell rings. I am far across the side of the whole school from where my class was and there is a swarm of kids bumping into each other, all crowded. I rush to my first class before the tardy bell rang. I barely make it in time but as i sit down on a random chair in the classroom I see one of the students picking on another kid. It then reminds me of one day when i was about 13 I came to Utah and it was my first semester at Valley Jr. High. All the classes had gone by pretty fast but my last one. I noticed there was a kid picking on everyone.
A couple of days went by and he didn't seem to notice me because i sat pretty far back in the classroom. The next day came and as soon as I stepped into the class the teacher asked if I could sit closer. “ Hugo can you please sit next to Dylan? Dylan please raise your hand!” I saw the bully slowly raising his hand and I panickly and awkwardly said “Okay.” I quickly walked to my new seat next to the bully and as soon as i sat down he started calling me names, “ Hey fatty you have a weird name HAHA! sounds like juice in spanish HAHAHA!” I could have easily made fun of him back because he stunk like horse poop but I just ignored him, even though it was pretty irritating and annoying.
nevertheless I couldn't stand it anymore. My feet were tapping the floor repeatedly and I couldn't concentrate in class so I asked the teacher if I could go get a drink of water. She said, “Yes you can but be quick!” I hurried and grabbed the hall pass. As soon as I got to the water fountain I accidentally bumped into a kid. He had dark black hair and I helped him up and said, “Sorry are you okay?” But he didn’t respond and quickly left. When he was out of sight I drank lots and lots of water it felt REALLY refreshing and it soothed me down a bit. I rushed back to class and noticed a different kid sitting in Dylan’s seat. The teacher said to me, “ Austen will be sitting in Dylan’s seat now.” So i walked to my desk and started talking to him and we had a lot in common. He told me that he told the teacher what Dylan was doing. He really saved me a lot of trouble and since then we were best friends.
I then realized that the same thing was happening here except I’m basically like austen and the kid that was being bullied was kinda like me too. I also noticed that the kid looked exactly like the same kid I bumped into back at valley at the water fountain with the dark black hair. I hurried and told the teacher that he was being bullied and she moved the dark black haired kid next to me. He told me his name is Fernando and that he remembered me and we started talking a lot that whole class period and in a coincidence we had a lot in common also just like me and Austen. Me and Fernando then became bestest of friends and we now help kids that are being now bullied also!
