My Hero
When I was in 6th grade I moved to a new school for the second half of 6th grade. I didn’t know anyone and I didn’t really want to talk to anyone. Then my friend Alexys came up to me and started talking to me. She asked me questions, like what school I came from and if I wanted to hang out with her. We were hanging out after, but then she moved schools and I didn’t see her until 7th grade.
When it was halfway through the year of 7th grade we talked more because my sisters and I were walking around. I saw Alexys and she asked me how I was doing and that we should hang out someday. She also asked me where I lived and I lived really close to where she lived. After we got closer at the beginning of 8th grade and we were together every day. We hanged out a lot for summer of 2012.
We had our ups and downs sometimes, even though we didn’t really tell each other that we were mad at each other, but we got through it all. We told each other a lot of things that happened to us. When something would happen to her she would call me crying, and I was there for her and told her that everything would be alright. She did the same for me when I needed her.
She showed me that I can get through everything that I’m going through. She also showed me not to be shy in front of everyone and for me to be myself. She’s always been there for me and I’m happy she came into my life. If it wasn’t for her I would not really be the person I am today. I’m grateful for friends, she is always making me smile and laugh when I’m feeling down or when I’m not in the mood. It makes me smile when I see other people making friends and it reminds me of her and I when we first met.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
