After building a new home on a ranch, we had purchased several furniture pieces from a local furniture store. Some general items took weeks to arrive, some more complex items months. The saleslady called to share that there would be a delay for some of our ordered items. Instead of calling her back, and after grooming several horses, I decided to stop by the store in person. My visit was greeted with a warm smile at first then with tears in my saleslady's eyes. Her daughter was just diagnosed as terminally ill only days before. My visit was received as an opportunity to offer encouragement and words that flowed as light from one mom to another at the gripping news. This was a sad day for me as I entered the store for other personal reasons, yet as I drove away gained such healing and hope as the Lord used even me to lift another's soul towards tomorrow.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
