As I look back over my life, I cannot help but wonder...why me?
At birth, I weighed less than 1 pound and yet here I am. Again I ask, why me? I was raised solely by our Mother, whom I adore dearly. According to
all statistics, I was not suppose to make it out of the gang ridden streets
of Upstate New York, without at least some type of felonious record
attached to my name. However, I did! Why me? After graduating from High School with Academic Distinction, I decided to join the U.S. Air Force and pursue my college education. I served for 4 years and opted to exit the
military with an Honorable Discharge. With a young family to support, very little money and even less experience, I applied for an entry level position
at the prestigious Wall Street Investment Firm, Lehman Brothers, Kuhn & Loeb. Only God knows why they hired me from amongst all of the more
seemingly qualified candidates. Yet I worked consistently for two years,
earning minimum wage, with only the mere hope of one day becoming a
Stockbroker. Sure enough, someone decided to give me a "shot" and I
grabbed it with both hands. After my first year in production, I was named
the Top Rookie in my training class. I was later offered an Executive Level position and subsequently recognized personally by the President of the
company for having increased my client base and my production by over
250% YOY. All of this seems like a distant memory now, and even though I've chartered a new course (professionally), I still find myself asking the
same question...why me? However as a result of my own life lessons, I
have come to realize the answer to that question?
If God saw something in me at birth, who am I to question HIM in life.
The truth of the matter is that (LIFE) is not about YOU. It all boils down to one simple fact...How Many People Have You Helped Along The Way! Once you make that your life's mission, you'll never have to ask yourself, "why me" again!

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
