All Has Failed? Hope!

I believe when life deals you unbearable situations, there still is hope. Entering college and altering your mindset into a mature, level headed person while adjusting to the new transition is a challenge; however, it is attainable. Many situations and obstacles will be present: some good that will help you and some bad that will hinder you but either way will make you become a better person.

I tried to keep the mindset of being level headed, but it was hard as I dealt with a death of a very special friend. I familiarized myself with a person who I grew to know well and formed an inseparable bond that created a friend, support system, boyfriend, etc. who I could converse with on a personal and non-personal level. I became acquainted with him my junior year of high school and when he passed, his absence affected me mentally. I felt like every time I would accomplish something or set my mind to attain something, a setback followed; I started to think good fortune was not for me. I was in denial and still am, for I never thought something like this could happen to me. It hit too close to home and I was not able to cope with it and keep my mind focused. In reality, I could not revive him and knew I had to finish what I set out to do: succeed in school. It was a tragic situation that affected me in a way that I never expected, something I had never experienced before. I asked why, why did this happen to me? Even though I was put through this, which seems so unbearable to cope with, I gained another family. His family accepted me as if I was their own blood. Is there still hope? Of course, there is. I was able to meet him and feel love, something that I can pass on to others as they deal with hardships.
