I was in my early twenties; a young mother riding the bus with my daughter in her stroller in my native Germany. On the bus I noticed a young man a bit younger than me dressed in a military looking style black jacket. He seemed very tense, and out of the corner of my eye I could see that he looked over to me and my daughter when I was turning the other way. I felt uncomfortable and kind of threatened.
Then finally my stop came and the doors of the bus opened and just as I wanted to get off first to lift my daughter with the stroller out, the young man jumped out before me. To my surprise he then turned around and stretched his arms out to help me. My daughter and I got off safely and I thanked the young man and he gave me a nod and a quick smile before jumping back on the bus. I was positively surprised, even more so after I had apparently misjudged the young man completely during the bus ride.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
