Throughout my whole life I’ve been told that if you work hard it will pay off in the end. Sometimes I doubt that, I don’t believe it’s true. Every time I think that, I step back and look at Kim, my mom, my hero. Everyday my mom gets up to go to her job, a very hard job. She is a nurse in an ER. People, everyday, over look nurses, but if you haven’t forgotten they save lives every single day. Not only does she work hard at work, but at home too. She has four kids, one of which is me, that she has to take care of. We all have sports, jobs, and places to be, and she has to drive us around. My parents got divorced when I was three. My mom could have easily shut us out of her life, and cried day and night, but she didn’t. She knew right then that, yes she would have some tough times ahead, but she couldn’t give up. My mom hadn’t finished collage at the time, thirty-five years old and she went back to school. Those years were very hard. She went to nursing school, and she studied all the time. We would get home from school and couldn’t talk to my mom, because she had to study. Not only that, but my mom didn’t have a job, so we were low on money. It was difficult, but my mom kept working hard. Finally, what after seemed like forever, she graduated and got a job. Life started to go back to normal. We were finally allowed to play sports, and do more things as a family. Sports have become a very important part of our lives. When my mom isn’t working, we are playing soccer, which my mom loves to watch. My mom played soccer as a kid so she is always pushing me to work hard, and do my best. I love my mom because she is always there for us. She is a hero to me and other people too. She works hard to keep my family living, and healthy, and not only that but she works hard to keep other people alive. I couldn’t have asked for a better hero.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
