My hero Jessica Carscadden. At just 9 years old Jessica started the We Care Bears Project. The We Care Bears Project provides instant comfort to kids in unbearable situations. She does this by providing bags of stuffed animals to first responders, and other organizations that deal with kids in hard places, to give to children in crisis situations. She also provides volunteer activities for young children via bear drives and bear bagging events. Even the youngest children understand how much a stuffed animal brings them comfort when they are scared or injured or they instinctively understand how important these events are. She believe that creating volunteer opportunities for young people creates lifelong givers, studies have shown that kids who volunteer are less likely to be bullies and more likely to stand up for others. Kids turn into adults with an eye toward, and goal of community service.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
