My hero is my teacher Mr. Vander Loop. I choose him because he is so inspirational, and does amazing things for people! He also does a cancer benefit called Unless. He calls it unless because of the book the Lorax, by Dr. Seuss. This year it is the sixth year of the cancer benefit. Over the last couple year the benefit has improved so much, here are how much we raised each year:

2009: $3,000.60
2010: $7,738.29
2011: $11,725.00
2012: $25,773.00
2013: $41,114.86

Total: $89,351.75 So if we get more than 21 thousand dollars this year we will be over 100 thousand dollars raised!

I hope that Mr. Vander Loop will win this hero award because he is capable of so much, and me as a student have grown so much by having him as a teacher.
