My hero is my baby cousin Azzy. She never gave up, and not one time did she wine or want to give up, everyday there was a smile on her face.
Azalee Mae Carroll was just a normal 4 year old girl from Port Allen, Louisiana until the day her whole world was changed. The day before Azalee's 5th birthday in 2012, she found out she had cancer. She immediately sent to St. Jude Research hospital. Azalee was at the last most dangerous stage of her cancer which was Nueroblastoma. Azzy went on with her life as a beautiful, young, vibrant, vivacious little 4-year old. Throughout the regorous treatments Azalee was a trooper.
Azalee went into remition around April 2013 and was allowed to return home. Then a few short months later, she had been caught up again. Once again she went to St.Jude. Azalee was the same person as before, happy. Then in October/November of 2013 Azalee began to decline.
On November 17, 2013 Azalee’s families’ worlds crashed. Early that morning Azalee had died. Azalee still lives on in her little videos sha taped herself in doing things that only Azalee would do. Not only in the videos but in the hearts of the people she has met, known and loved, and also the people who have followed her on her journey on facebook.
She is gone but not forgotten. We all love you Azalee!!!! <3
