Gwen W

Mrs. W often took care of my twin sister and me. She lived across the street and must have noticed that we had a difficult family life. She was patient, kind, and treated us as if we were her own children. She taught me how to create a good family life, how to be loving mothers, and how to help others.

During my teen years, my family moved away and we lost touch with Mrs. W. I think about her often and still have yet to formally thank her for all she gave to us. Thank you so very much Mrs. W., I work every day to pass on what you taught me.

Wow, everyone! It's hard to believe I wrote this story almost 10 years ago to the day. I never cease to be amazed by life's cyclical pattern. I came back to this website to find my story I submitted since I've been feeling rather lackluster about myself lately. I've had many journey's since high school and am about to start a new career path yet again (my seventh job in six years). I find that I still sometimes hold the qualities I had in high school; mainly, my doubts that I have about myself and my abilities to be a top performer. I am happy I came back here today to remember the strength I had then and to also read everyone's encouraging comments. My heart goes out to all of you and I hope you all are thriving in life. Also, p.s., my solo was incredible! Despite my fears and insecurities back then, this moment is definitely one of the things I remember and appreciate the most from my high school career. Warm wishes, Elizabeth

Wow thats very true. I think alot of us live by that quote. We know we do but we accept it and do not try and change it. I have felt the same way for months and months now toward cosmetology school. I have almost dropped out a million times even though I thought this is what I always wanted. weird huh?? but ever since people have said I need to believe in myself more things have gotten 100 times better

The repetition of any particular practice could result in something very good or very bad for oneself or even to the world. This quote, however also implies that "you already knows the results of your practice"...I'm sure that there are many attributes in your character that don't need to be changed. Thanks for your story.

This is very true. The mental aspect of staying positive is the most important thing in accomplishing goals. I race motocross and the most important thing is to stay positive and to never focus on the negative. Anything can be accomplished with the right attitude.

I have always had problem believing in myself but after college I decided to change my attitude. Because of this I managed to get a job with the best company in the region.
