Sherry Hall works very hard for Grace Rids. She works with a group volunteers who have followed the call of our hearts to love and serve others by using the stuff of our daily horsey lives to bless “future horse lovers” who have special needs. We know how much these lovely large creatures have added to our lives, and we understand just how much they have to give to a wide variety of our brothers and sisters with emotional, cognitive, and physical challenges.
Sherry begain GRACE Rides in 2009, with a small core of volunteers, working out of the Oak Heaven Stables equestrian facility in Niceville, Florida.
Since 2009, we have grown from a pilot program of 4 riders per week to an average of 35 riders per week in 2012 (and still growing). Over the years we have remodeled our facility to make better use of every square inch, and have added a sensory integration arena, as an alternative to our traditional full-size arena, in order to better serve our program participants. Last year, more than 5,800 hours were invested into our program by devoted volunteers, and we provided at least 890 rides for program participants. So far we have focused primarily on Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT), blended with Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL). Over the summer of 2013 we will be adding an Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) program, which will focus on serving the needs of military personnel.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
