Corinne is on a campaign to teach positive social skills, character and values in schools across the nation. It is a solitary mission, but she is making headway. In EVERY school where her SocialSmarts program has been adopted, bullying has all but been eliminated, teachers are getting more time to teach because classroom distractions from unruly students has been eliminated, and test scores have gone up by double digits.
Kids respect each other, are helpful and courteous, and anti-social behavior has been reduced on the playground. Kids reach out to others and ask how they can help each other, and the barriers created by ethnic and religious differences has been reduced.
Corinne is my hero because she has tackled a very difficult and daunting task to positively change the face of education, and she is doing it without any funding, resource or corporate backing. Her program works, and deserves a much larger audience. She exemplifies the values expressed in the advertising I have seen sponsored by the Foundation for a Better Life.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
