This is a story about a woman who changed my life. Her name was Ann(Been) and she was my big sister...my only sister. This was a woman who endured such horrific trauma throughout her life and still was able to remain judgment free and loving towards all. In the 43 years that I was graced with her love, I learned how to bear huge burdens and continue on. She was a shy child growing up. She boar more hurt than anyone I have ever known in my lifetime and still encouraged me on. She never judged me. She never yelled at me. She never showed me anything but unconditional love. I could do nothing that would ever change that. There is no one in my life to this day, who unconditionally loves me as much as my big sister did! She taught me to endure through the hurt and come out stronger on the other end. She tried so hard to be strong. I was so proud of her. She lost everything, at one point. She lost the most important people in the world to her...her babies...John and Eden. She struggled with alcoholism and drug addiction and in the end, lost the fight. But, she will always remain my hero, because she fought soo hard for her children and fought for all people who struggled with abuse and brain disorders. She passed away on March 1, 2009. She was a kind, peaceful, loving, spiritual soul, who is now flying high among the angels in heaven having a huge dance party. Thank you my sister for showing me about what forgiveness is. Your heart was the most forgiving, kind and God-loving. I am honored to be your sister.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
