Elena enlisted in the US Army in 2008 and went to boot camp in Ft. Jackson, SC. After successful completion of basic, she was stationed at Ft. Benning, GA, 3rd Infantry BDE. Elena is a talented artist/photographer and used her art skills for motivational and educational purposes among the fellow soldiers. After the horrible shooting at Ft. Hood, Elena created an image of Holy Mary where she used a fellow soldier, April Burns, as a model. The image is called "Ft. Benning Madonna" and was on display in many art galleries around the country. Currently, Elena is honorably retired from the Army and founded a charitable organization "Veterans for Cure, Arts and Education". As a veteran herself, Elena understands the importance of values to soldiers as well as civilians in our society. Elena is a motivational speaker, world traveler and book writer. Her books, "I am an American Soldier" and "Natural Cures for Life" will be in book stores soon. Elena also teaches arts and does modeling work.
