Our 14 year old son was a big baseball player in east Texas. His dream of becoming a baseball player came to a halt when he was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma Cancer. He touched the lives of people all over east Texas and in other states as well. He is one of 200 teenagers that are diagnosed a year(very rare). He was only given a 20% chance of survival. He challenged himself to fight a good fight to beat this ugly disease. He had his fight and succeeded into a fine, young, bright man. Today he is working and trying to go to College but doesn't have enough money. So he is working to save some to go next semester. He said he is going to become a Doctor and help others become someone that can have a second chance at life.
He surprised the Doctors,his parents and helped other kids in the Hospital.He gave them hope that everything is going to be okay and got them out of bed, played games,and tried not to think of it as cancer.He always told the Doctors thank you and had a smile every time they came in.
The nurses were always glad to see him,they would visit with him and laugh and he gave them the chance to just be a nurse.He said he wanted them to be happy at a job where there was a lot of pain and suffering.He has a second chance in life to become someone who can inspire young men and women who have this disease.
