My grandma, Peggy, is my hero. She died in 2006, but she was a great person. She got married when she was 13 and she never went past the 6th grade. She got pregnant and had my dad when she was 14. She was self-taught, she was a very good cook, she was a very good painter, she paid the bills, and raised three great children. She had a wonderful garden and could make any flower grow to be beautiful. I can tell that she was a great mom, because of the way my dad turned out. She was the kind of person who thought about everyone else before herself; she always did things for others.
When I was little, I thought that she never got angry because I never saw her ever raise her voice at anyone. She was the nicest person I've ever known.
When she got sick in 2005, I realized that there was no person on earth who was invincible. Her memory inspires me to be a better person each day, and to get a good education.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
